Suraj Shankar to receive the 2020 Dissertation Award in Statistical Physics by the APS!

Former student Suraj Shankar has been selected by the American Physical Society as the winner of the 2020 Dissertation Award in Statistical Physics for his thesis on ``Geometric and Topological Aspects of Soft & Active Matter''. Suraj obtained his Ph.D. form Syracuse University in May 2019 where he worked under the joint guidance of Mark Bowick and Cristina Marchetti. He is currently a Junior Fellow of the Harvard Society of Fellows at Harvard University.
